Chemical Peels

Chemical peels may be used for treating sun damage or other cosmetic concerns such as fine lines, hyperpigmentation, and unwanted freckles. At Studio R Aesthetics, we use chemical peels to help you get the gorgeous radiant skin that everyone desires safely and effectively!

A chemical peel is a skin therapy that removes and rejuvenates the epidermis on your face or body. Dead cells in your top layer are dissolved, allowing new ones to form in their place! You may experience some slight peeling for up to two weeks after the procedure, but don’t worry–your skin will be super soft after it’s all over, with minimal scarring since all of those unsightly scars were also removed!

Different chemical peels, depending on your skin type and what you want to improve. Generally, chemical peels involve applying a solution containing alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs), beta hydroxy acids (BHAs), or non-acid ingredients. Each has its unique properties for improving your skin. Chemical peels work best when applied to:

  • Reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles caused by aging and sun-damaged skin
  • Reduce freckles, age spots, and dark pigmentation caused by hormones (melasma)
  • Improve the appearance of scarring
  • Treat certain kinds of acne
  • Smooth out the skin's texture and appearance
  • Reduce the risks of getting skin cancer (including melanoma)
