Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin are all brands used in neurotoxin injection therapy. They work by reducing muscular activity and weakening the muscles. Neurotoxin injections help paralyze muscles and relax them and have been used for years to improve wrinkled or aged skin appearance. This treatment takes only a few minutes and has visible results after a few weeks, with effects lasting 3-4 months. Neuromodulators, also known as neurotoxins, are medications that block the underlying muscle activity that causes signs of aging, such as wrinkles and fine lines, as well as skin creases and folds. They don’t prevent you from showing expression, but they do stop the lines caused by muscular movement from forming temporarily.
The treatment areas are injected with neurotoxins using tiny needles. Neurotoxins work by blocking the muscle contraction in and around “problem areas.” With neurotoxins Charlottesville patients have an excellent way to smooth and reduce wrinkles, but they’re also beneficial in slowing the development of deeper lines as we grow older.

Treatment may cause redness and mild to moderate swelling. It will gradually disappear, but we recommend avoiding any heavy lifting or vigorous activity for 24 hours after your treatment.
It generally takes effect between 3 and 5 days after treatment to see results, although it may take up to a full 14 days for the full effects to be seen. Starting toxin treatments early is an effective way to avoid more invasive treatments like plastic surgery.
