Neurotoxins are one of the most effective and recognized non-surgical wrinkle treatments available today. The beauty of this technique is that it repairs wrinkles caused by facial muscle movements, such as forehead lines and crow’s feet around the eyes.
Imagine having a younger, smoother look with fewer wrinkles, higher cheekbones, and a look that matches how you felt in your youth. Neuromodulators are often used to treat the common aspects of facial aging and are the perfect way to fight back!
Unfortunately, wrinkles and fine lines can develop on any part of the face due to muscular activity in those areas, such as smiling, frowning, squinting, or laughing. At Studio R Aesthetics, we use neurotoxins such as Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin to soften those pesky lines and wrinkles to give you that youthful look you desire. Based on your concerns and needs, we will determine which neuromodulator would work best for you based on the treatment areas needed and other important factors.
Neuromodulator injections are a type of therapy that reduces muscular activity by weakening the muscle. Neurotoxin injections help paralyze muscles and relax them and have been used for years to improve wrinkled or aged skin appearance. This treatment takes only a few minutes and has visible results after a few weeks, with effects lasting 3-4 months. Neuromodulators may also serve as a preventative therapy, preventing the need for more invasive procedures in the future like plastic surgery!

What Are Neuromodulators Or Neurotoxins?Neuromodulators, also known as neurotoxins, are medications that block the underlying muscle activity that causes signs of aging, such as wrinkles and fine lines, as well as skin creases and folds. They don’t prevent you from showing expression, but they do stop the lines caused by muscular movement from forming temporarily.
The treatment areas are injected with neurotoxins using tiny needles. Neurotoxins work by blocking the muscle contraction in and around “problem areas.” Neurotoxins are excellent for smoothing and reducing wrinkles, but they’re also beneficial in slowing the development of deeper lines as we grow older.
During the treatment, which takes about 10-20 minutes, Dr. Segura will inject into the muscles of the areas that are being treated. There is no need for general anesthesia; instead, your specialist may use a topical anesthetic or a cold compress to relieve any discomfort.
Treatment may cause redness and mild to moderate swelling. It will gradually disappear, but we recommend avoiding any heavy lifting or vigorous activity for 24 hours after your treatment.
It generally takes effect between 3 and 5 days after treatment to see results, although it may take up to a full 14 days for the full effects to be seen. Starting toxin treatments early are an effective way to avoid more invasive treatments like plastic surgery.
The effects of neuromodulator injections last anywhere from three to six months.
