Joelle has been on our weight loss medication Tirzepatide for a little more than 2 weeks. She has lost 10 pounds so far and was correct in noting that most of that weight is likely water and carb weight. She also isn’t experience as much snacking as before starting the medication, which is one of the beneficial effects of these medications. She has only had mild nausea, which is typically 2-3 times per week lasting for about 5 minutes. Using MyFitnessPal is a great adjunct to weight loss to you can keep track of calories consumed and burned.

October 5, 2023

Ashton has been on our weight loss medication Tirzepatide for about 4 weeks. She has lost 8 pounds and notes having much smaller portion sizes since starting the medication, which is one of the major benefits. Some patients like Ashton don’t experience nausea while on the medication, although she is on the lowest dose so she may start to experience nausea as her dose increases. Walking is her primary form of exercise. Her mom is her accountability partner, which is another great adjunct to any weight loss plan.

Joelle has been on our weight loss medication Tirzepatide for 10 weeks now. She has lost 18 pounds and notes that it’s important to make conscious decisions about what she’s eating. Her eating schedule has become more like intermittent fasting, which is a highly effective way not just to lose weight, but to enhance overall health (see related blog HERE). She continues to use MyFitnessPal to keep track of calories consumed and burned. One of the key differences between regular dieting and using a weight loss medication like Tirzepatide is that she no longer “hears the food noise”. With regular dieting, we eat until we have enough willpower to stop eating and ignore the continued hunger. With weight loss medications like Semaglutide and Tirzepatide, a flip switches in your mind and you simply no longer feel hungry. This is one of the reasons people say it is to much easier to diet and lose weight on these medications.
